Starting Construction of the Cordophone

Now that all the design alteration have been completed its time to start working on the Chordophone. The most complex part of the build will be the concrete dish like thing at the base of the chordophone. After thinking about how to tackle the mould for the base section of the chordophone i decided that modelling it in Solidworks would be a good starting point as it will allow to creation of a organic shape quite easily and will ensure its symmetrical.

Project 3 Conclusion

Overall I was happy with the surface finish on the mouse, I should have allowed more time to complete the project as I left things to late and wasn't able to complete the assignment to the degree that i would be happy with. From the modelling perspective I have learnt a lot overall in this course, I would however like to revise some of the surface modelling videos as well as some of the knitting surfaces videos as I want to improve me knowledge on them some more. I think I could have done a lot better in the assignment overall, but I am not upset with the final model I ended up handing up. The renders turn out well but I will leave more time next time I need to render and animation. Here are some final renders I handed up: I really enjoyed the assignment and would like to complete some personal works in solidworks to keep developing my skills.

Rendering and Animation

So now I have finished the model I need to complete my photo realistic renders and video render. This part of the assignment I was pretty confident on as I have done both before, however when I went to complete the video render it was going to take 36 hours. I did not allow for this much time to render the assignment. To tackle this issue I had to change from rendering the animations in Visualise back to photo view 360. Here is what the Render looked like in Visualise: It can be seen that the model has a very shiny finish to it. The photo view 360 didn't provide a finish that was quite as good. The Photoview 360 renders are good but don't quite provide the level of detail and finish that Visualise does. Overall if I left myself more time i would have been able to complete the render in visualise.
