Prototyping a Chordophone

Project 3 Stage 1 requires us to develop 1 of 3 prototypes, which must be able to be produced in low volume's for a supplier. The First part of the project was to select two material in which the product would be made from, these materials could be any thing from sheet steel to ceramics. A process must also be chosen to correlate with the chosen materials i.e. Water jet cutting for sheet steel, and casting for ceramics. The materials that I chose were Tasmania Oak with the processing method of traditional wood working, and concrete with the processing method of casting. Once the materials were chosen the product to be produced can be chosen.

The 3 options that I could chose from were, a chordophone, a Lamp, or an EP Car. Once the desired product was chosen the design of the product could take place. I started with producing three vastly different chordophones to which one was selected and refined.

This was the selected design for my Cordophone, there has been some alteration done to the prodcut to help produce a more functionally product.
